When Cool Air Turns Warm…What’s Going On?

Few things are more frustrating than turning on your air conditioner only to feel warm air coming through your vents. In Florida, that’s not just uncomfortable, it’s unbearable. The good news? Warm air from your AC is usually a sign of a simple issue, not necessarily a major system failure.

  • Ice on your refrigerant lines

  • Hissing or bubbling sounds

  • Long run times with poor cooling
    Fix: This isn’t a DIY job. A certified HVAC technician should find and fix the leak, then recharge your system to the proper level.

4. Dirty Condenser Coils or Outdoor Unit

Your outdoor unit releases the heat your system removes from your home. When it’s clogged with dirt, leaves, or debris, heat can’t escape,  causing the air inside to stay warm.
Fix: Turn off the system, gently rinse the coils with a hose, and clear any obstructions around the unit. Avoid pressure washing, that can damage the fins.

5. Electrical or Compressor Issues

If your system suddenly stopped cooling altogether, you could have a failing capacitor, compressor issue, or blown fuse.
Fix: Contact a licensed HVAC technician. Electrical issues are dangerous to troubleshoot on your own.
