How do I know when it is actually time to replace?

When the repair starts costing a real slice of what a new system costs, and when it is not the first repair. A compressor or an evaporator coil on a system past about twelve years is usually the point where we stop patching. If it is a capacitor or a contactor, we fix it and you keep the system. We will give you both numbers and let you decide rather than deciding for you.

What size system do I need?

Whatever the house actually calls for, which is why we measure rather than match whatever was there before. Plenty of homes around here were fitted with a system a size too big, and an oversized unit cools the air fast then shuts off before it has pulled the moisture out. That is how you end up with a house that is cold and still feels clammy. Getting the size right matters more in Florida than almost anywhere.

How long does an installation take?

Most straightforward changeouts are a single day. If the ductwork needs work, or we are moving where the air handler sits, it can run into a second day. We will tell you which before we start, not halfway through.

Will a new system really lower my bill?

It depends entirely on what you are replacing. Coming off a fifteen year old unit running at ten SEER, you will see a real difference. Coming off something eight years old that was simply low on charge, you would have been better off with a repair. We would rather tell you that up front than sell you a system you did not need.

I got to see everything before it was replaced in my attic. They were very thorough in explaining to me what needed to be done and why my house wasn’t holding cool air. I opened up a can of worms and luckily they know what they are doing. I had a solution in minutes. It’s a pricey procedure but good air quality and a efficient electric bill is very important.
