My toilet rocks a little. Does that matter?

It does. Every rock works against the seal underneath, and once that wax ring gives up, water seeps into the subfloor where you cannot see it, which is how a cheap fix turns into a floor repair. Sometimes it is only loose bolts. Sometimes the flange under it has rusted or cracked. We pull the toilet, look at the flange, and set it properly.

There is a sewer smell in the bathroom we never use.

That is almost always a dry trap. The water sitting in the trap under the drain is what blocks sewer gas, and in a guest bath or a seasonal house it simply evaporates. Run water in that sink, shower and floor drain for a minute every month or so and the smell goes away. If it comes back while there is water in the trap, the vent may be blocked and that is worth checking.

Are flushable wipes really flushable?

No. They do not break down the way toilet paper does, and they catch on anything rough inside the pipe, which is how we end up pulling a rope of them out of a main line. The same goes for paper towels and any cat litter that claims to be flushable. Toilet paper and what your body makes, nothing else.

We get a freeze warning now and then. What should I do with the plumbing?

Disconnect the hose from the outdoor spigot, because a hose left attached is the most common way a spigot splits. Cover the spigot, let a faucet on an outside wall drip if it will sit below freezing for hours, and open the cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls. If you are leaving for the season, shutting the water off at the main is the safest thing you can do.
