Is a tankless water heater worth it?

For some households it is. A tankless heater never runs out of hot water and takes up almost no space, and it avoids the tank that eventually rusts through. It costs more up front, may need a larger gas line or electrical circuit, and hard water means it needs flushing every year. If you use a lot of hot water and plan to stay, it can pay off. We will run the numbers for your house.

Why does my toilet keep clogging?

Usually it is one of three things: an older low flow toilet that does not have the push to clear the bowl, a partial blockage further down the drain that catches everything, or things going down it that should not. If plunging fixes it for a day or two and it clogs again, the problem is usually past the toilet itself. We can snake the line, look with a camera if needed, and tell you whether a new toilet would actually help.

Do I need a backflow preventer?

If you have an irrigation system, a well tied into your plumbing, or certain water treatment equipment, often yes. A backflow preventer stops water that has sat in the yard lines or the equipment from being pulled back into your drinking water. Many are required to be tested periodically. We can tell you whether your setup needs one and whether the one you have is working.

Water is dripping from a pipe on the side of my water heater.

That is the temperature and pressure relief valve, and it is a safety device, so do not cap it. If it drips occasionally, the water pressure may be too high or the valve may be worn. If it runs steadily, the tank may be overheating, which needs attention right away. We check the pressure, the thermostat and the valve and tell you which one it is.

I got to see everything before it was replaced in my attic. They were very thorough in explaining to me what needed to be done and why my house wasn’t holding cool air. I opened up a can of worms and luckily they know what they are doing. I had a solution in minutes. It’s a pricey procedure but good air quality and a efficient electric bill is very important.
